Danish passport photo – rules explained
The Danish police set photo rules so the passport works with face recognition at borders. Here they are in plain language – the official source is always politi.dk.
Size and position
The photo is 35 × 45 mm. The head from chin to crown should measure about 30–36 mm, and the face must be centred and look straight ahead.
Light, background and expression
The background must be light and plain without patterns. Lighting must be even without shadows on the face. The expression is neutral with a closed mouth and open eyes.
Applying in person
Passports are ordered in person at the citizen service centre. Ask your municipality whether they take the photo on site or whether you need to bring one – and in what form.
